Published in 2005 as the first half of an omnibus edition titled ''Uncommon Valour''. It follows the adventures of John Sinclair and William Mason, two Royal Navy officers, their friends and family. Sinclair is the English Captain of the frigate ''Sapphire'' just returning to sea after a wound that nearly killed him. Mason is the loyalist American Commander of the sloop-of-war ''Paladin''.
